My stove just died. The controls board relay for oven temperature is shot. The oven-stove is ten years old. A replacement board is $620. That's just the part.

I have been shopping for a replacement. It's abysmal. I'm thinking of going into the hood and buying a restaurant stove from a junk guy. I can de-roach it outside before I bring it in.

Even the new electric ones have a safety interlock button for every burner unit on the stove top. They won't heat or light without the weight of a pan or pot on the burner. Forget sautéing your food. It will shut off every time you lift the pan.

We got an old Maytag washer after our “new” washer broke down. It ACTUALLY cleans the clothes and we don’t have to add scented pearls because they stink with the water reduction.

“The controls board relay for oven temperature is shot.”

If you have a part number for the relay you might try an Internet search.

Parts like power transistors and large capacitors can go bad.

Lightning can fry a circuit board.
