Kiev Mayor Vitaly Klitschko on Friday ordered the closure of 74 churches belonging to the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), citing its alleged “direct ties” to the Moscow Patriarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Klitschko’s decree is similar to that used to seize the Kiev Pechersk Lavra, or Monastery of the Caves, which Ukrainian police stormed last month. The world-famous holy site, which is nearly 1,000 years old, was handed over to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, a rival organization set up by the government in 2018.

I worshipthen too. But they are the GOD of Israel.

Once more..what did you call me?
I did. That Zelensky donned neither a kippah nor tallit, but worn his signature olive drab, and many in uniform wore the tryzub (as at 1:23), suggests to me a media event, staged and with those who would be content to participate for a variety of reasons.
You will notice in the translation this "Jewish" president congratulates them, the Chasids, on "their" holiday. Not "his." (1:14)
This same "ecumenical" stance put Ashton-Cirillo up as a spokesperson. So the notion that this is NOT a media event for the media is silly. Complete with underscoring and intercuts. Do the Chasid speak? No. In SAG/AFTRA parlance, they are the extras.
You pinged to my comment # 17 posted on 9/15/2023, 5:59:23 PM , which contains links to Zelensky and his comedy troop, as well as the link to Ashton-Cirillo. So the links in my comment stand alongside this video.
Those links go to real earlier performances and a more recent one. I remain unconvinvced that this is anything other than the Chasid version of a Biden or Yellen or Blinken or EU officials making pilgrimage, for which video are also made.
As to the two day visit, one reads a small tidbit in a larger article,
“Many come here to pray,” says Natan Bennoon, the chief rabbi of Uman. “But I assure you that 80% of the visitors are not religious. They come here just to have fun.” In "‘The show must go on’: 35,000 ultra-Orthodox Jews descend on Ukraine for Rosh Hashanah"And later: " 'In Israel, we are used to situations like these, said Rabbi Bennoon, who moved to Uman from Israel in 1988. And I think this is also an opportunity for Ukraine. It’s important for them to show the world they are in control of the situation and that the show must go on .”

Did you notice the UA30 logo on the t-shirt? One reads:
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said he considers the launch of a new UA30 Cyber Center a showcase of change in Ukraine
Z does not practice Rabinical Judaism.
Sending a single dime to Ukraine was a huge mistake. Biden obviously getting his 10 percent, plus ten for Jill, plus 10 for Hunter.
“We got real big problems here.”
You first noticed that?
I’m smaht. ;-D
More like Heretical Hedonism, aka JINO.
Or. In other words, pick your historian.
The Poles have never had russophobic tendencies, right?
😂😂😂
Agree!
Well at least you admit it.
No Russians I know have expressed anything about Poles.
Every Pole I met told me he or she hated Russians, while we were adopting children from Russia.
One woman who got eggs from us refused to say hello to our oldest daughter from Russia who answered the door.
My experience has been that Poles in general are hateful nasty people. Really? You hate Russians so much that you refuse to speak to a 12 yo child? .
My many experiences with Russians have always been positive.
Tons and tons of them.
Just fyi. Have a nice life.
Not Soviet historians, btw. Church historians.
No, don’t believe Soviet historians without proof.
-——_——+++++++-
I also don’t believe US historians.
Just church historians.
