If they were trying to conquer Ukraine, they failed. It’s over for that. Ukraine is armed and dangerous now.

Wow, you think Ukraine is still winning? You're more brainwashed than the New York Slimes and Washington Compost.

“Nope. If they were trying to conquer Ukraine, they failed. It’s over for that. Ukraine is armed and dangerous now.”

There have been rumours of more Russian mobilizations for weeks now.

What’s happening now is massive losses by Ukraine trying to smash thru south of Robotyne.

The Russians supposedly have ~250K not currently engaged. That might be enough to take Kharkiv, and eventually everything east of the Dnieper.

IF they want Odessa and that coast, it will be hundreds of thousands more. And Kiev and everything say, east of Galicia would be hundreds of thousands beyond that.

in Poland in 1939 the Germans invaded with 2 million. Thats probably the scale it would take, but Ukraine is on its third army, the NATO cupboard is bare, and defence industry revival is not happening much at all.

I say the Russians need an additional 1 million to get everything East of Lviv.

Securing their independence is winning. The rest, like trying to recover all the lands stolen by Russia, not so much. It doens’t have to be all or nothing. Eventually there will be a peace settlement where both sides don’t get everything they want.

“...Americans also didn’t learn about perils of “limited” wars such as Korea ...”

The UN called the shots in that war. They didn’t want to get Russia upset and called for a hold at the 38th Parallel. Between the South Korean Army (ROK) and ours I, and many others believe we could have taken all of Korea. But you can’t win when you are ordered to defend. That was my war - 40th Division artillery.

they did push beyond the 38th and get 80% control of Korea ...

which brought Chinese troops pouring over the border

The hohols still don’t “get” that if they beat Russia on the battlefield, Russia will drop the big one.

The Soviet Navy is doomed. No drydock = no maintenance.

Here is a very good article on Russia’s dry dock situation.

“Russia has other dry docks available at the far-away Port of Novorossiysk, in Russian territory. But the dry docks in Novorossiysk are floating dry docks, and, by design, they are far less capable of efficient handling of battle damage or major refits.”

We called it victory over the USSR when their economy couldn’t sustain the pace of military spending and collapsed, leading to at least a nominal change of government.

My read on the Russian strategy is to do the same to the West rather than a tactical or operational ground objective. Are ‘we’ winning?

I guess the difference is that in the 1980’s, the Russians had the industrial capacity to produce for their military but the rest of their economy was failing.

What the US and the EU have now is the opposite, big GDP, but a hollowed out industrial base that can’t even produce artillery shells in quantity and will only be able to do partially in 2026 (if they make that deadline, which I very much doubt).

What the Ukrazies, the NeoCons and the Cold War Nostalgics don’t seem to understand is that a big GDP composed of services, financial manipulation, Apps, Central Bank money printing, and retail margins on imported crap doesn’t produce industrial goods to equip a peer war military.

This Ukrainian invasion is the longest two weeks in the history of Ruzzia.

At least they get a half million in casualties on either side, so that has to make them feel better. Anyway, not my taxpayer problem.

Hero Ukraine is winning big! The air defenses are gone! Now the bombing of all airfields and naval bases! A Ukraine D-Day is coming that will seize the whole of Crimea. Ukrainian soldiers will be greeted as liberator’s by the people of that occupied land. Once the Bridge is blown up. Putin will be Tossed out a window and a new leader takes over to offer the surrender of Russia to victorious Ukraine (who will next take Moldovia). It will be a glorious day for Ukraine and all of Europe. Next Ukraine can liberate Hungary from pro-Russian ruler!

It’s globalist propaganda spam from disreputable trolls. Removing left-wing garbage wasting JimRob’s bandwith is certainly called for.
