If the information in the affidavit is actually true, Metcalf does seem to have some possible mental health issues but what he is doing is likely legal because the law is unconstitutional. My fear is his issues may make it harder to defeat this law.

Good liars always incorporate parts of the truth in their lies.

As far as I can tell, what the affidavit portrays as fact, is fact. Interwoven with the fact are opinions. Very important facts are left out.

The facts of an ongoing two year campaign of terror by Carpenter is omitted.

The fact of his five criminal convictions less than 8 months previously is omitted.

The fact of an in force, order of protection against Carpenter, which ends in 2032 is omitted.

The allegations of Gabriel having "mental issues" are all opinions of officers where he refused to give up his rights.
