Georgia defendants’ legal strategies could delay Trump trial
The Hill ^ | 09/11/23 | Zach Schonfeld & Ella Lee

The early defense strategies being pursued by former President Trump and his 18 co-defendants in Georgia are quickly complicating prosecutors’ aim to go to trial next month.

District Attorney Fani Willis (D) is attempting to keep all of the co-defendants together for a singular trial beginning Oct. 23, but several legal maneuvers already underway pose deep challenges to Willis’s goal, which legal experts have called extraordinarily ambitious.

So far, five defendants have attempted to move their charges to federal court, two have demanded a speedy trial and a majority have aimed to sever their charges from fellow co-defendants.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee teased last week the difficulties of trying so many people in such a short amount of time.

“It just seems a bit unrealistic to think that we can handle all 19 in 40 something days,” he said.

A good, but biased, article that gives an excellent account of the positions the various parties are taking before this trial, differing positions that are going to make doing it all in one package nearly impossible and extend the starting date of the trial for a substantial time.

Raise your hand if you believe any of these indictments are going play out to the point of a jury conviction and Trump in prison. 🙄

All the charges should be dropped, Willis should be Nifonged, and a Congressional investigation of the manipulation of the Grand Jury and the communication between Willis and the so-called Special Counsel should be ramped up, with the goal of ending Mad Jack Smith’s reign of terror and Fani Willis’ Mau-Mau comedy show being stomped out of existence as an affront to American judicial conduct.

Trump will likely be convicted in 3 out of 4 of the trials.

The Biden regime will make sure Trump is in prison. There is no doubt in my mind seeing the MO of this corrupt DOJ. I am surprised they even gave him bail. What better way to shore up Biden’s phony base than to send Trump to prison. Can there be anything more motivating for all democrats?

None that I can think of.

James actions in NY need to be thrown out, also.

The bimbo who CLAIMED Trump raped her in high end store dressing room is totally BOGUS.

She should be charged with false accusations

Fani is on the same intellectual level as Biden’s press secretary Jean-Pierre.

Before or after January 20, 2025?

It’s a long list, isn’t it?

Nobody ever pulled this kind of crap in 240 years.

And let’s not forget all the real coup plotters that Durham let off the hook.

There will be assassination attempts.

Secret service people may die.

How the Swamp reacts to this is the great unknown.

It seems generally likely no trials can complete prior to next summer.

The big question is if he wins the election and trials are wrapping up, how is that handled?

“Trump will likely be convicted in 3 out of 4 trials”.

That isn’t what these indictments are about. Its all about EO 13848 which just got renewed for another year. Election interference. Trump has lured these 4 idiots and Merrick Garland by extension into committing election interference and soon they will be on trial.

Have you looked at Trump? Does he seem stressed out or in the least bit concerned? Of course he’s not.

Do you really believe Donald Trump would sign on to become a political prisoner for 40 years? Of course he wouldn’t.

Do you believe Donald Trump would put himself and his family through this insanity only to lose in another stolen election? Of course he wouldn’t.

Everything that is happening is to expose this criminal deep state cabal to the general public. Expose it and then destroy it. Donald Trump is the face of an ongoing operation to take out the deep state and they are not going to let anything bad happen to him.

a majority have aimed to sever their charges from fellow co-defendants

I posted this question four days ago:

How does one single jury constitute as "peers" to 19 different individuals?

Somebody should challenge this on Constitutional grounds, demanding separate juries for each person because the charges are different, their actions were different, their jobs were different, their motives were different, etc.

One jury cannot reasonably be "peers" to 19 separate individuals.
