Trump faces another 14th Amendment candidacy challenge, this time in Minnesota
CNN ^ | 9/12/23 | Marshall Cohen

A liberal group filed a lawsuit Tuesday to block former President Donald Trump from the 2024 presidential ballot in Minnesota, the second major lawsuit in two weeks that hopes to invoke the 14th Amendment’s arcane “insurrectionist ban.”

The cases are seen as legal long shots. Trump denies wrongdoing and has vowed to fight to remain on the presidential ballot. The new Minnesota lawsuit was filed in state court by Free Speech For People, one week after another group initiated a similar challenge in Colorado.

Why are they(left) so afraid of Trump?

It's akin to after reconstruction, where KKK democrats would keep black republicans off the ballot.

Once again, it may be pointed out, that the basis for attempting to try Trump for sedition or insurrection is tenuous at best, because where is the alleged sedition or insurrection? Near as I can tell, not one of the 6 January defendants has been charged with that specific felony.

You cannot be accused of insurrection until after an insurrection has been declared. In 1861 Lincoln declared an insurrection. And then came the 14th Amendment.

No insurrection has been declared since 1992. And even if Biden declared one tomorrow, the Constitution prohibits ex post facto laws.

Might be time to block biden and any democrat from the ballot in red state legislatures. There are more red state legislatures than there are blue state legislatures.

Who is it that cries about attacks on democracy? Do these cretins even listen to themselves?

They are worried about what he might do to them if he’s back in office. They know all the criminal things that they’ve done starting as far back as 2015, right up to this very day, all the lies, collisions, conspiracies, plots, and of course the massive voter fraud in 2020. They don’t want him in there and having the power to expose them as the criminals that they are.

Sorry but that ship sailed when people were trying to be “with it” dancing the twist while JFK was running for President.

All these “state” challenges are being coordinated by someone high up in the national democrat party. What are those state AGs being offered in return for their cooperation?

The MN AG already said publicly, he has no authority to prevent Trump from being on the ballot in MN.

But they’re just so confident Trump’s going to lose because he’s so unpopular that they have to do this. F’n commies.

Problem is each of the 50 states can have one major lawsuit to keep Trump off the ballot and then an appeal, a countersuit and months of stages of judicial appeals upward.
“Tied up in court” coast incredible amounts of money and previous time that Trump needs to fight the successor to Biden.

Gen.Flynn and Paul Manafort sold millions of houses and investments to pay for their defenses. Their life savings gone to keep the wolves at bay.

If it can’t be done in one state, then it can’t be done in ANY STATE. But keep trying to put the square peg in the round hole, dems

If you’re a democrat or an anti Trump Republican, the 14th Amendment is a weak reed to rely on. So far only a County Commissioner in New Mexico has been disqualified from holding office under the Amendment. One tyrant nutjob judge made that decision.

Imagine this scenario, Trump rolls through the Republican Primary, defeating his opponents easily, but the “party of democracy” feels differently and wants to limit ballot choices & disenfranchise voters. They tried the sane thing over Trump not releasing his tax returns.

IMO these fantasies are put out by the American Establishment to “egg on” the anti Trump voter. The anti Trump voter falls for this bullshit every time, just like Charlie Brown trying to kick a football held by Lucy.

You never answered my direct question from yesterday, but you keep tagging me in stuff (which is a weird thing to do). So I will ask more directly this time. The following was in the article you tagged me in yesterday. Do you agree with it?

"Trump is not just a candidate. He is a phenomenon. Biden won in 2020 by and large because voters were turned off by Trump’s personality."

Do you agree with this?

“Trump is not just a candidate. He is a phenomenon. Biden won in 2020 by and large because voters were turned off by Trump’s personality.”

That was borne out in exit interviews…

Why are they even bothering in a state where no Republican candidate will ever win anyway.
