"Through our investigations, we have found that President Biden did lie to the American people about his own knowledge of his family's foreign business dealings. Eyewitnesses have testified that the president joined on multiple phone calls and had multiple interactions, dinners resulted in cars and millions of dollars into his sons and his son's business partners," McCarthy said.
Earlier, Fox News Digital confirmed that McCarthy will tell House Republicans today that beginning an impeachment inquiry against Biden is the "logical next step" for their investigations. An inquiry is the first step of the impeachment process, where evidence is gathered for the articles, or charges, of impeachment against an official.
In a statement responding to reports about the impending inquiry, White House spokesman for oversight and investigations Ian Sams blasted the effort as politically motivated. He accused McCarthy of advancing an impeachment probe to placate hardliners in the GOP conference.
"McCarthy is being told by [Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga.] to do impeachment, or else she’ll shut down the government," Sams said. "Opening impeachment despite zero evidence of wrongdoing by POTUS is simply red meat for the extreme right wing, so they can keep baselessly attacking him."

“”Impeachment INQUIRY”, sounds like the ol’ “Repeal and Replace” bait-n-switch.
Trump had no such soft treatment even when the charges were based on falsehoods.
Still bringin’ the knife to the gunfight.”
100% Wrong Take. You really don’t know much about this, do you.
The DOJ, MSM, FBI, State, etc. refusedto investigate anything Biden. The House couldn’t prod them except with Contempt, whichwould then be refered to...THE DOJ lol.
This Impeachment Inquiry opens up EVERYTHING to The House. Bank records, emails (including his aliases), phone records, IC files, secret sources, etc.
Will he be removed? Probably not. Do I care? Nope. The Inquiry will put everything in the open. Even MSM will have to cover when the Bribery trail is completely exposed.
Exact deposit amounts, with account numbers, inflow and outflow, all of it.
If you follow top legal minds like Mike Davis, Margo Cleveland, etc., you would understand.
Woo hooo! Way to go Kevin!!!!
“My recommendation: do a censure and move on....”
Is that you, Mitt?
You want President Kamala—seriously?
Yeah ... go for it. Then "we" can invoke the 25th Amendment, and use their words against them.
“You want President Kamala—seriously?”
Reading Comprehension not your strong suit, eh?
“Smoke & Mirrors!”
WRONG.
See my post #41, and learn something.
What’s with all the Nattering Nabobs of Negativism infesting FR these days? I counted 8 in the first 7 replies, including the poster!!!
Good God, people, this Impeachment Inquiry by McCarthy is the Best Newss we’ve had in a long time. Fer God’s sake, read up on what doors it opens up.
Good luck winning over the Democrats with legal arguments.
They make up the rules as they go along—the Republicans just follow them.
Such theater. The real stuff never gets dealt with.
"House Speaker Kevin McCarthy announces formal impeachment inquiry against President Biden"
“Never confuse Motion with Action.” ―Benjamin Franklin, The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin
BREAKING: Rep. Matt Gaetz is calling for Kevin McCarthy to be removed as Speaker of the House. (9.11.23)
Biden laughs at question about Kevin McCarthy’s request for his bank records: ‘Hee-hee-hee (9.1.23)
The next "impeachment" that will hopefully be initiated by Democratic and Republican Trump supporters is when patriots primary all state and federal incumbent lawmakers and executives in 2024.
After all, lawmakers and executives continue to show that they do not have the patriotism and leadership skills necessary to find legislative support for effective remedies for unconstitutional government policies.
In fact, consider that, since one of the very few powers that the states have expressly constitutionally given to the big, bad federal government to dictate peacetime domestic policy is to run the US Mail Service (most federal domestic policy actually based on stolen state powers imo), the worst problem that the country would otherwise be looking at with a new Congress of Trump-supporting freshman lawmakers is arguably a delay with mail delivery.
"Article I, Section 8, Clause 7: To establish Post Offices and post Roads;"
"From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]." —United States v. Butler, 1936.
Trump can endorse candidates from lists that patriots who respect the federal government's constitutionally limited powers provide for him, as long as candidates are not incumbents, candidates also promising to repeal the 16th (direct taxes) and 17th (popular voting for federal senators) Amendments after they win office.
Consider the repealing of 16&17A as part of reparations for taxpayers for having to pay a lifetime of unconstitutional federal taxes, taxes that Congress cannot reasonably justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers and a few other constitutionally enumerated expenses.
"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
“If the tax be not proposed for the common defence, or general welfare, but for other objects, wholly extraneous, (as for instance, for propagating Mahometanism among the Turks, or giving aids and subsidies to a foreign nation, to build palaces for its kings, or erect monuments to its heroes,) it would be wholly indefensible upon constitutional principles [emphases added].” — Justice Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution 2 (1833).
”Simply this, that the care of the property, the liberty, and the life of the citizen, under the solemn sanction of an oath imposed by your Constitution, is in the States and not in the federal government [emphases added]. I have sought to effect no change in that respect in the Constitution of the country.” —John Bingham, Congressional. Globe. 1866, page 1292 (see top half of third column)
Pelosi: "We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it." (non-FR; 6 sec.)
“Cherish, therefore, the spirit of our people, and keep alive their attention. If once they become inattentive to the public affairs, you and I, and Congress and Assemblies, judges and governors, shall all become wolves [emphasis added]. It seems to be the law of our general nature.” - Thomas Jefferson (Letter to Edward Carrington January 16, 1787)
Democrats Are Terrified Of An Educated And Informed Public (3.12.23)
The definition of insanity is reelecting your beloved career state and federal lawmakers and executives over and over again, expecting those same politicians to find remedies for unconstitutional government policies every time.
Patriots, let's not allow ourselves to be fooled for third time in 2024 by the corrupt, constitutionally undefined political parties that have pirated control of state and federal governments.
We shall see.
My guess it its going to end up with a “No” vote, and then Democrats and RINO’s will use it as a campaign issue, to sway the ignorant masses.
“doors it opens up”
Lol.
The Department of Just Us will be so impressed with the evidence it will indict dozens of Democrats and fellow leftists....
any day now.....
The reality is that DOJ is in the business of manufacturing evidence against Trump supporters. They are in the political prisoner business, not the justice business.
Yes, it is a good thing. Let's get on with it.
The RNC brings a wooden spoon, not a knife.
1) He's completely controllable. He even admits it.
2) He's a great big upthrust middle finger to We the People.
YAWN!
There aren’t any fair-minded folks anymore.
And 10 days from now Kevin and the RINOs will cave to the Dems again and pass another ridiculous Continuing Resolution and spend us into oblivion.
Gee you only have like 100+ things you could impeach that crooked turd for
Honestly, it's time to shut things down....for years. By then people will leave their Fed jobs and we can reduce government by half.
Watch them refuse anyway. What will Kevin do? Nothing.
