Are the gloves starting to come off? If a recent post on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, is any indication, high-profile Republicans and conservatives are starting to attack former President Donald Trump over his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic while he was in office.
Advertisement Even before the primary season began in earnest, many speculated that his support of lockdown orders and vaccines could become his Achilles heel. But so far, few on the right have raised the issue as they have been hesitant to attack Trump directly. Things appear to be changing, as Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp posted a response to a video the former president made in which he decried leftists trying to bring back mask mandates.
In the video, Trump said that “left wing lunatics are trying very hard to bring back COVID lockdowns and mandates with all of their sudden fearmongering” about the emergence of new coronavirus variants. “They want to restart the COVID hysteria so they can justify more lockdowns, more censorship, more illegal dropboxes, more mail in ballots, and trillions of dollars in payoffs” in the leadup to the upcoming election.
In a post on Saturday, Kemp wrote:
The fact is former president Trump led the opposition to my decision to reopen Georgia - the first state in the country to do so.
While he listened to Fauci & parroted media talking points, I listened to hardworking Georgians.
He may not remember, but I sure as hell do.

Yes, Trump screwed up there in hindsight.
But to be fair, at that time, nobody was really sure what we were dealing with.
Hindsight is 20/20 back when Corona started..if we had known what a sleaze bag Fauci was then his ass would have been gone..Trump listened to him, he didnt know..he did what he was told and yes it was a bad decision but no one can blame Trump for going along with it its easy to look back and say “Oh I would have done it different” easy to say now
I thought he gave that job to Pence?
I’m sure Trump knows details of Brian Kemp’s visit to the Houston Chinese Consulate to meet with the spies before Trump closed the Consulate for spying and deported 30 CCP military coordinating the BLM and Antifa riots.
Two weeks later Kemp bought Dominion Voting machines.
Is Vivek Ramaswamy the Biz Whiz He Claims to Be? Burned Investors Might Disagree
Vivek Ramaswamy, the fast-talking, Ivy League-educated, telegenic political phenom thrills Republican voters, infuriates his presidential primary opponents and styles himself as an entrepreneurial “scientist” with a glittering business background and hundreds of millions of dollars to dump into his out-of-nowhere campaign for the White House.
But a review of Ramaswamy’s career – marked by the hyping of a failed Alzheimer’s drug, giant payouts when other investors got burned, lawsuits alleging pressure to break securities laws and more – reveals a businessperson whose true liquid net worth is unknown and whose track record as a successful entrepreneur shows limited value creation for anyone other than himself.
Alzheimer’s Drug Failure
By far the most prominent effort – and biggest failure – in Ramaswamy’s business career came when his biotech company, Axovant Sciences, acquired rights to a potential drug to fight Alzheimer’s disease.
Axovant was a brand-new company. And beyond an undergraduate degree in biology, Ramaswamy had no experience in pharmaceutical research or any further scientific training. The drug was called Intepirdine, and the $34.6 billion pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline, having given up on the drug’s prospects, sold it to Axovant for $5 million and other considerations.
Ramaswamy rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange in June of 2015 – alongside his new bride – when Axovant became the biggest-ever biotech IPO at the time, raising $315 million and eventually winning a valuation of $3 billion.
No one on earth is looking to Kemp for wisdom. They’ll hop on board to mob up against Trump but tge 240 million people who tuned into Trump on the Tucker show are not paying any attention to kemp for what he says about Trump not for what kemp did during Covid that was supposedly so superior nor what he’s doing now which is one of the biggest mistakes ever made by any politician in the history of the world.
Actually, there were some who knew what we were dealing with. They were the ones who misled the public on the origin of COVID-19, the severity of the virus, the lockdown of the planet, and the need of a vaccine.
We knew it had little effect on healthy people children, and also we knew that lockdowns would leave the economy in shambles. Kemp is correct.
I was listening to Kristi Noemi talking about “the government” shutting everything down. She never mentioned that she and Trump were the government at the time.
Kemp was right. Trump was wrong. Big time.

What a lie !
This Swamp WEF @sshole obeyed his donors who wanted to re-open regardless of the health consequences.
If his donors had demanded everything be locked down - that's exactly what this Douche would have done !
I remember Trump closing down the flights from China.
Of course Korean Air which is affiliated with Delta and flies to most major cities in China was still flying into USA. I was on one from Bangkok to Soul to Boston on February 27th, 2020. Came right in with no problem.
I was sure.
The only defense I can give him is that he sometimes has to split the baby. Trying to keep the country together during a collective hysteria. I mean even FR had/has its contingents.
But there was no logic to the crazy agenda, no consistency, as we all pointed out. He is at least as smart as me and he knew that.
So yeah he has to own this one he could have been way worse but he could have been much better.
Trump is extremely vulnerable on this issue. It’s time DeSantis others take it to him.

George W. Bush to appear at fundraiser for Trump nemesis Kemp
May 2, 2022
Former President George W. Bush will appear at a fundraiser for Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp in Texas this month, wading into one of the year’s highest profile primaries to help a Republican...
A few did. But he wouldn’t listen.
Have you met Trump? He never intended to let Pence manage this.
Yeah I remember daily news briefings by Trump and Fauci. I’m sure Trump felt he was trapped and had to do what he did.
Anyway ... that is history. What important now is to focus on reversing the damage Biden and the left have caused.
