There's been supply-chain problems for at least the past 5 years. I went into my local Walmart the other day, and saw a sign that they are (once again), renovating the store, and that the grand opening will be November3rd. Why renovate a store, and have a grand opening when you have nothing in your freezer section, and your shelves are empty of food? It's been that way here for a very long time.

As a side note, I'd been buying Walmart's Great Value Maple Flavored Pork Sausage Patties for a few years now. They were actually pretty good. Hadn't been able to find any in the freezer sections of three different Walmart stores within a half-hour of me for well over a month. When I went to my local Walmart last week, I noticed they had bags of the patties, so I scooped one up. I also noticed that they had changed the color of the bag, from red to blue, but didn't think anything of it.

The next morning I took a patty out, and cooked it. WTF??? It was horrible!! When I say horrible, I mean horrible. I threw the rest of it away. I sat down and called the phone number on the back of the package, and told the girl that took my call, that Walmart must have gone with a different supplier, because the new sausage patties were disgusting. Gone was any taste of maple. They tasted like cardboard or as if they had sawdust in them. The girl I spoke to told me she would send me a Walmart gift card for the amount of the patties. I threw the rest of the package away. There was no way I would ever eat another one of them.

After I finished with my call, I went to Walmart's website, and did a search for the patties, wondering if there were any other complaints about the change in flavor. Holy crap!! There was nothing but reviews of how terrible the new patties were. Most people like me said that the old patties had been pretty decent, but these new ones were terrible.

I'm old, and because the cost of food is so high, I've made it a habit, that when I buy any food product that turns out to have a problem with it, I will contact the company, and they will send me coupons for their products. They usually send at least two coupons for a free item, and then a couple more for at least 50 cents off a package. I've written Fresh Express when I've gotten what is supposed to be a bag of salad with carrots, radishes, etc. in them, and they've ended up having like one radish. I've written Land 'o Lakes because the cover of their plastic tub of butter has cracked when I've opened it. I wrote the company that produces Ball Park Hot Dog Rolls because I've gotten packages of rolls that are broken, but the damage couldn't be seen within the package. I complain about everything I buy if it isn't up to the standard it should be. Some of the stuff they send out of these factories, never should have passed inspection. I'm tired of spending more for groceries, and not getting what I paid for. So any of these companies who fail to ensure that items are up to snuff when they leave the factory, will be hearing from me.

I bought a dozen “Eggland’s Best” eggs last year. One egg was like solidified gelatin. It was gross. I wrote a complaint on their “contact us” and got a coupon for a dozen. They wanted a photo of the bad egg. Nope, it was so gross to look at it went right down the disposer.

We stopped going to Walmart when I saw they were part of the WEF.
