Former Rep. Mike Rogers Enters Michigan Senate Race as the First Prominent Republican

Republican Mike Rogers, who served in Congress for 14 years and chaired the House Intelligence Committee, is running for an open U.S. Senate seat in Michigan that Democrats have held for over two decades.

The announcement, which was provided to The Associated Press in a campaign video on Wednesday, instantly shakes up a Senate race that had been relatively quiet and dominated by Democratic candidates. It's seen as a recruiting victory for Michigan Republicans, who have struggled to win statewide races with a state party in turmoil.

A former Marine and FBI agent, Rogers was elected to Congress in 2000 and served seven terms in the House, the last two as chair of the committee that oversees U.S. intelligence agencies. He left office in 2015 and served briefly on Trump’s transition team as an adviser on national security issues.

Will the CIA will be trying to get this guy in office. So he has that going for him. The intelligence groups always like to have several of their own in congress to make sure they can keep invading our rights.

Michigan is lost for good.

It was brilliant to grab MI, WI, and PA by promising white Democrats to close the border and re-shore the manufacturing. It promised re-alignment that could actually matter.

But it was a lie, and, once lied to, those voters are gone for good.

Enough already! Get a regular job.

What ever happened to Citizen Legislature?

Yes, should he get elected he’ll immediately be place on the Senate Intelligence committee, which covers up government schemes. That’s his downside.

Once again you dazzle us with your brilliant political observations…not.

The dims shortchanged all of that, so that means the White dims in Michigan are now going full commie. That makes zero sense.

If anything it gives smart conservatives a huge advantage. I only know one family from Michigan, a family that owns a lot of Michigan real estate, and they are doing everything in the world to move the politics back to center right.

Former FBI agent? Sorry, no thank you. Former congressman? Sorry, no thank you. That outweighs being a retired Marine. It’s retired by the way, not former.

Rogers is a RINO, but I agree that he's better than Meijer.

1) There are former Marines, and there are retired Marines. Former Marines successfully complete their service obligations. Retired Marines serve long enough to receive a monthly stipend for the rest of their lives.

Ex Marines are those who are dishonorably discharged.

2) I'm not overly thrilled with Mike Rogers, either, but he is one of the few Republicans in Michigan with enough statewide name recognition to stand a chance of winning Debbie Stabenow's Senate Seat.

Dr Linda Lee Tarver Michigan Election Fraud .... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oaovS8YuCQ

It’s always refreshing to hear someone just put it out there in plain language. Not politician speak. Just lay out all the facts in layman’s terms and call them out for who they are.

This lady tells the world what’s been happening in Michigan, what happened in 2020, obviously what happened in 2022 and what will happen.

Michigan, yet another state like...Washington, Oregon, Nevada, California, Arizona, Wisconsin, Illinois, Pennsylvania, NY, Vermont, Maryland, and New Mexico...where a couple to a few cities dictate who’s holding the statewide offices and the courts, if the justices are elected every so often. .

Soon to be added to that list will be Tennessee, Georgia, Texas and possibly South Carolina, as the Governors and Chambers of Commerce in all are doing everything they can to lure liberal companies to their respective states, changing the voting demographics in the cities in such a way that the suburbs and rural areas become overwhelmed.

Rogers is a deep state weasel and Meijer is a ruling-class weasel - I hope Chief James Craig enters the race (and can collect petition signatures cleanly!).

In other news Mike Rogers is losing to his democrat opponent by over 1,000,000 votes and is being called on to concede.
