This is about one half of an island in the Amur River. The whole other bank of the River and a chunk of Russia's Far East used to belong to China.

Thanks. Russia has a different mindset. I was listening to some RT media the other day and one of them said:

“the whole world should be russia”

The Chinese and Russian Empires both claim those chunks of land, but there weren’t many/any Han Chinese or Russians living there at the time (pre-1900s). I believe the natives are similar to Eskimos, but they were few and without military power so had no say in the matter.
