Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) responded Saturday to recent White House criticism of her saying she would vote against funding the government if the House decides not to open an impeachment inquiry against the president.
“The White House is attacking me for demanding an impeachment inquiry before I’ll vote to fund one penny to our over bloated $32 TRILLION dollar in debt failing government,” Greene wrote in a lengthy thread on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
“We have the evidence they have desperately been trying to hide to just ask the question,” she continued. “Should we inquire? Should we just take a look? Dare we investigate further? The answer is YES but the White House is outraged at my audacity to demand it.”
The White House slammed Greene on Thursday for her plan, calling her the “hardcore fringe” of the Republican Party.
“The last thing the American people deserve is for extreme House members to trigger a government shutdown that hurts our economy, undermines our disaster preparedness, and forces our troops to work without guaranteed pay,” White House spokesperson Andrew Bates said.
Greene on Thursday also placed other conditions on her vote, including eliminating funding for Ukraine, withholding funding for “Biden’s weaponization of government” and eliminating any remaining COVID-related mandates.
“I will be happy to work with all my colleagues. I will work with the Speaker of the House. I will work with everyone. But I will not fund those things,” she said.

What she is saying makes perfect sense. For that, she’s being painted as the “fridge” of the party.

Why do you say that? I sure wish she was my Representative! In fact I was shocked Trump refused to greet her not long ago when he arrived on the tarmac in Georgia. She was there to greet him and he snubbed her. Wtf? She’s like his number one fan in Congress!

Sure, corrupt-o-crats, take all the time in the world. If you take too long, DC gets cauterized. If not, we ditch the tyrant. Either way is a win for the people of America (well, at least for those who don't get cauterized along with you).
Personally, I think MTG is kind of on the fringe and all over the place on certain issues.
She fully backed Kevin McCarthy who has broken promise after promise on spending, releasing 1/6 tapes, etc.
MTG is on the fringe for almost coming to blows with Lauren Boebert on the House Floor, no need for a cat fight between two female Republicans.
Now she’s complaining about the White House attacking her over calls for Biden’s impeachment, what did she think was going to happen, the Biden administration wasn’t going to invite her over for tea and to talk about impeachment.
Politically, I think impeachment of Biden is a net negative right now, especially going into an election season, just keep digging, keep releasing the damaging information, keep pounding away at him over selling out the country, keep forcing the Democrats to defend him, it can only help the Republicans in 2024, if it gets really bad the Democrats will take out Biden without impeachment, inside they know he’s toast and bad for the party at some point they will dump him for someone younger.
I’m afraid MTG is the only person on Capitol Hill with a spine.
And a brain. Anyone with a brain and a spine in DC must be eliminated so that the grift can continue unabated.
Actually Trump not personally meeting MTG was a very SMART move. MTG is free to be an attack dog in Congress and isn’t “associated” with Trump. The Dems and their minions can’t use the “Trump controls MTG” lie!!! I believe MTG & Trump are in agreement, just not “publicly.”
DC is FUBAR. Love me some MTG.
