Five moms have died after family courts allowed fathers accused of abuse to apply for contact with their children, a BBC investigation has found.
Some took their own lives, another had a heart attack outside court.
One mother, whose child was ordered to live with a convicted child rapist, would no longer eat and drink and "gave up living", friends say.
A separate study has found 75 children forced into contact with fathers who had been previously reported for abuse.
In some cases, in the England-wide study carried out by the University of Manchester and revealed for the first time by the BBC, the fathers were convicted paedophiles.
All the fathers in the study had responded in court to allegations of abuse with a disputed concept known as "parental alienation", in which they claimed the mothers had turned the child against them without good reason.
Dr Elizabeth Dalgarno, who led the research, says the concept is a "handy tool for abusers" and its acceptance by courts is a "national scandal".
Family law barrister, Lucy Reed KC, says the term is deployed "increasingly frequently" - but doesn't always mean the same thing. "It's quite often used by fathers to mean pretty much anything that is in opposition to their demand for a certain amount of contact."

Such is the legal system in a supposedly civilized country.
Women are coached by divorce lawyers to lie about fathers to get custody arrangements favoring them, lzwyers and mom coach kids to lie and make false statements about dad.
Many women freak if the man even gets t0/50 because it cuts into their child support pymt (alimony 2) check.

It’s a script they’re handed as soon as they sign the divorce attorney’s retainer agreement.
Every Family Court judge is aware of this script and knows well his/her part to play in connection with it.
Also complicit: Municipal police, county-level psychiatric community, ideologically-driven “therapists”/psychologists, almost every social worker at the other end of every hotline, psychiatric screeners, psychiatrists connected with adult psychiatric floors, and psychiatric screeners who knows how to steer normal, unsuspecting men right onto those floors, if only for a brief stay long enough to destroy their case for full or even shared custody.
First order of business is to begin quietly telling the children, if you “feel unsafe” around Dad, you can and should call the police.
“Wellness visits” are staged to lay the predicate of a man who is a danger to himself, to others, and/or to property.
Next is to call the police and either report a dispute, harassment, fear of violence, any damsel-in-distress BS story will do. If the father can’t be baited to react physically, then the damsel is prompted to be physically violent to the father, often in front of the children, which in and of itself constitutes scarring child abuse, but the resultant chaos is designed to be and will eventually be pinned on the father, who will bear the burden of bureaucratic punishment (expensive paid, supervised “parenting time” where the supervisor is a spy who will later testify against the father) and no chance of obtaining appropriate custody.
Responding police know the routine and, if the father resists or even objects to their intervention, will call the psychiatric screeners (who are on speed-dial) who knows the routine as well, and never fail to railroad the unsuspecting father right onto the adult psychiatric floor.
Paedophilia is the world’s fastest growing obsession and tracks pretty well with the corruption and decline of Religion, specifically of Christianity. If it were possible to get true data out of Russia I think we would find that rise in paedophilia is not happening. The Orthodox Church is gaining and is NOT turning into leftist Ann Landers.

In a divorce hearing a judge cannot trust either partner not to lie. both men and women are capable of being an abuser and lieing to make a false claim.
Too bad the family courts in England don’t agree.

They mention ONE father was CONVICTED of sexual abuse. What the journalist wants you to think: “Oh, so THAT’S the sort of crime these dozens of men have been accused of, and still got custody!” What you SHOULD question: “Were none othere convicted? Indicted? Arrested? Credibly accused?”
Turns out it was the ex-wife who told her to make the false accusation and he was ultimately exonerated.
Nevertheless, the humiliation and stress of the event and the loss of his job in 2006 when the plant closed, ultimately led him to commit suicide in 2007.
Gas lighting. Here, dads live out of cars while moms spend 200 on hair and get professional nails every 2 weeks.
The dads never see their kids, but pay for them 18 years. That’s a lot of hair and mail suffering.
We could even meet each other's families, talk to a religious leader and enter into contracts first.
