"Burning Man attendees referred to as ‘Burners’ prayed to the ‘playa gods’ to make it stop."Well, their problem is obvious...

Hopefully last year of this embarrassing drug festival. It’s raining nicely here in Reno this morning and forecast to continue through the weekend. Bet it could be days before they can drive out.

The worst thing that can happen to an arid desert is for a heavy rainfall, on soil so concreted that the moisture cannot sink in, and standing water is everywhere if there is not sufficient drainage. If there is drainage, flash floods result.
Those people are fortunate not to DROWN in that saline clay that makes up the playas.

The Burning Man Festival is high on the list of things that I have never had the slightest urge to go and see.

Let them wallow in the mud like the hippies did at Woodstock.
They’re so high, they’ll enjoy it.

And notice in the picture, from a week ago, end of summer and everything is green! Last weekend we did an end of summer trip over to Great Basin National Park, everywhere it is green, still standing water from the recent tropical storm, and flowers blooming. Very unusual year. Here in Reno, no fires to speak of this year. In none last night, definitely snow on the surrounding mountains as their temps drop almost to the teens. Burning Man will barely get to 70 today, 60s tomorrow, and in the 40s overnight. Bet they didn’t dress for that!

Perhaps celebrities can sing out a fundraiser for food drops:
“Here’s to you
Raise a glass for everyone
Here’s to them
Underneath that burning sun
Do they know it’s Burningman at all?”
To: Reno89519
In a nutshell, a pagan festival. Misleading title. There aren’t 73,000 stuck in the mud. The majority are outside on high ground waiting to enter. Too bad, so sad.
