I lived in rural Nebraska for a lot of yrs. We all carried and never had trouble. Way back we even carried to school so we could hunt for food on the way home. ha to leave our weapons in the coat room though.

Dittos. If one of us got a new gun we always took it to school to show our friends, of course it was a one room school house in most cases. Most of our dads had been in WW2 so we’d been taught safe operation and care of fire arms. Pistols were rare, we all had rifles or shotguns.
