Large demonstrations are taking place outside a French military base in Niger’s capital, Niamey, as pressure mounts on France’s ambassador and soldiers to leave the country.
Niger’s military government, which seized power on July 26, has accused French President Emmanuel Macron of using divisive rhetoric in his comments about the coup and seeking to perpetrate France’s neocolonial relationship with its former colony.
Sylvain Itte, France’s ambassador, remained in Niger despite a 48-hour deadline to leave the country more than a week ago, a decision Macron said he “applauds”.

Niger coup supporters call for France ambassador, troops to leave country!:
Protesters rally outside a French military base calling for the ambassador and about 1,500 soldiers to leave.
They just cancelled the French Ambassador’s visa, so leaving Niger isn’t gonna be quite so easy.

Read this yesterday for the first time ever. Apparently 14 former French colonies in Africa still literally have to pay crushing colonial reparations taxes to France. Interesting story. In the past any former colony violating the agreement was subject to a coup usually led an organized by former foreign legion or French officers. Apparently this new crop of coups is happening because they sense France cannot intervene anymore due to troubles at home and a change in the wins politically.
it’s better to be a slave to the chinese than to be a victim of western leftism.
Good analysis!
As I said, this is the very first I’ve ever heard of it, so it would be interesting if anyone else has better knowledge. But according to the article Guinea was the first country to break away in 1958. As the French left, they destroyed schools, hospitals, bridges, everything they built during colonial days. When other French colonies gained independence, the French agreed not to do that again if the countries with sign separation agreements. They have to use the French colonial franc, their military can only cooperate with France, France has first claim on any natural resources discovered in the country, the gold and cash reserves have to be on deposit in the French central bank (who decides when they can withdraw.) It’s a fairly long detailed list. If true, looks interesting, and looks like the reason the coups started to boil up.
Part of me thinks whenever I see the burning cars in Paris, the French are getting their just desserts.
And you have had this invasion of Europe happening now. Africa would have probably been a paradise and tourist destination by now.
Either that, or Europe should have just left AFrica alone. No slave trade, no colonizing, no nothing. Just sit on the sidelines like vultures because the people would have all been dead from starvation or tribal warfare anyway.
Al Bundy was always correct.
Incredible data re the money still being sent by these African Countries to France:

The French should leave Africa, but under the condition that all Africans in France have to go back to Africa.
Win-win.
Great job by both of you.
Also, France ruled Vietnam for decades before WWII and afterwards.
How long did France rule Vietnam?
French colonialism in Vietnam
The French colonisation of Vietnam began in earnest in the 1880s and lasted six decades. The French justified their imperialism with a ‘civilising mission’, a pledge to develop backward nations.Jan 7, 2019:
Dude. You completely nailed it! Lol
And the stupid US basically let the French get Indochina back after the war, and we ultimately lost 50,000+ Americans because of it.
I know, I was there.
Everything bad that happened ultimately was because of the French.
We got Hitler, because of Clemenceau.
You had the Iran Hostages, because France harbored the Ayatollah for 15 years.
And we got Vietnam, because of the French.
Harsh punishment ...
Scary history lesson:
Everything bad that happened ultimately was because of the French.
We got Hitler, because of Clemenceau.
You had the Iran Hostages, because France harbored the Ayatollah for 15 years.
And we got Vietnam, because of the French.
What role did France play to get us so involved in WWI?
