New (updated) Conservative talk radio Superstation, 910-AM, based in Metro Detroit, will begin broadcasting its 24/7 Conservative talk shows and news, Tuesday, September 5. WJR had been Conservative with Rush Limbaugh as part if their line up. They have since gone to local talk programming only.
From their website:
"WFDF (910am) which brands itself as 910am Superstation is a talk radio-formatted radio station licensed to Farmington Hills, Michigan.
WFDF (910 AM), which brands itself as 910 AM Superstation, is a News Talk radio formatted station licensed to Farmington Hills, Michigan, serving Metro Detroit."
BTTT
“...west into the Grand Rapids area,...”
Not according to their map! Wonder if in the future the station will have a website that streams the audio.
Well, they probably need it.
Bump
Thanks for posting this! I am a frequent listener of WAAM, which has some very good local programming like Theyrone X, Trigger Talk, and Operation Freedom. I’ll have to check out this alternative.
Why? Its a line-up of putz
I used to listen to WXYT when they were around. Mark Scott, David Newman, John McCollough.
I live further NW than Grand Rapids and I don’t believe I can pull that station on over the air. Would love a streaming option.
Hurricane Andrew 1992 - WWL New Orleans started to fade out near Mobile (daytime). I hung out in Mobile for a few days.
I’m guessing WWL doesn’t have many daytime listeners in Mobile though. Nighttime sports talk was another story.
Those were great days and such a powerful lineup. If I recall, Rush was also on that station at the time. Unfortunately, McCulloch and David Newman have passed in the last 3 years, and Scott in 2005.
Thank you very much. I will listen for it.
WJR has their wimpy phony “independent” Guy Gordon who is two faced and as leftist as the day is long. And lost Dan Bongino. Not replaced by a national conservative. Just lost now.
I had just tried to be less depressed by having gratitude for Bongino’s show on WJR that was one of the few remaining good things. The following week he quit his contract as part of his winding down his non app and non podcast life. I also had gratitude for two print magazines I liked and shortly both went belly up. Oh, well.
Yes, Rush was on WXYT 1270 am and I could get it as I walked on my lunch hour unless I turned the wrong way for the weak signal on the Walkman’s antenna (dates it but we were talking about the old days).
Those conservative talkers were good guys and it was so great to hear Rush every weekday.
Thanks. I knew about Scott and Mccollough. Didn’t know Newman passes away.
After Rush, everything on conservative day radio went to poopy. WJR is a disappointment.
Not that I was dependent on Rush or anything, but his upbeat radio show gave truth with humor that helped me weather the Obama years...and other cultural crappy things. LOL
I hope the new station works our. Admittedly, there have been too many changes
and the depression is real.
It’s no coincidence that conservatism has fallen apart since Rush’s demise, he galvanized Conservatives like no one else could.
Truth. There has been NOTHING on the radio that is the same. Bongino tried. Buck and what’s his name have, too. Not going to work boys.
(Seeing that Rush’s home in Florida is being bulldozed does not help.)
In Palm Beach, when the land is bought, usually the houses are replaced, you're paying for the location. The folks who can afford it, can also afford to build whatever house they want at that location.
Yes, I know. Final end of an era.
Some points of radio interest: We lived outside of Detroit (far west burbs) most of our lives and took it for granted on radio stations as those of us in big markets had it all. Then we were transferred to Reno for almost three years (rude awakening) and when the time was up we chose to move back to MI but decided to avoid the big city and decided on SW MI, very bucolic. However you can’t even get a station on AM that you hate and FM is spotty if at all.
Is used to listen to Frank Beckman (streaming) on WJR out west as he was always a classy guy but after that we were done with those knuckle heads. The good news is that technology is advancing to allow alternatives for those of us in the wilderness - you can stream WKMI.com (Kalamazoo, Battle Creek) and get for example Steve Gruber (local MI but many national topics) Gallagher, Failla, Hannity, Pags, etc. WAAMradio.com has others that overlap but has other names such as Beck, Prager, others.
Then there are endless podcasts like Bongino, Charlie Kirk, Jesse Kelly, Michael Kwowles, Ben Shapiro, Candace Owens, Matt Walsh, Mark Levin, Louder with Crowder (hilarious but R-rated) Michael Brown on the weekends.
Back to 910 AM, Clay and Buck (also podcast) said that they are doing their show live on opening day, I think I heard that Clay’s wife is from the area and Pags too for a long time working in Lansing. So each day there is about 30 hours of material on my phone - not as overwhelming as it sounds as EVERY ONE will piss you off from time to time so they get ignored for a few days LOL. Hope this helps.
