Former President Donald Trump holds a double-digit lead in Virginia’s Republican primary, the latest Roanoke College survey found.

The survey asked Republican respondents, “If you had to choose, who would you most prefer to be the Republican nominee for president in 2024?”

Trump has the clear lead with 47 percent support, 34 percent higher than Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who came in a distant second in the lower teens with 13 percent support.

The survey found Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, who is not in the GOP presidential primary race, coming in third with nine percent support in his home state. Former Vice President Mike Pence came in fourth with seven percent support, followed by six percent who chose South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, five percent who said anti-woke businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, three percent who said former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, and two percent who said former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley.

The poll also examined a hypothetical 2024 presidential matchup between Trump and President Biden and found Biden leading by nine points, 51 percent to Trump’s 42 percent. Seven percent remain unsure. However, the survey also found that 47 percent would “consider” voting for an independent candidate in the event the election is between Biden and Trump.

The survey was taken August 6-15, 2023, among 702 respondents.

Apparently he really believes his handlers (Globalist, Neo-Con, NeverTrumper) when they tell him they will be taking President Trump out of the POTUS Nomination campaign clearing the field for DeSanctimonious.

My guess after the second debate, when his polling continues to drop.

Keep in mind that a lot of these states that are proportional have ‘winner take all’ provisions at 50%.

So if Trump gets over 50% in these states on Super Tuesday and thereafter (despite the trial schedules), it’s game over. He’ll be the nominee and there’s nothing anybody can do about it.

That’s what these trial dates are for, to keep him under 50%. But by the way it’s looking now, by then it’ll be a foregone conclusion.

Haha. These polls are costing Trump beaucoup bucks, and RDS won’t be dropping out.

Ironic isn’t it, that Trump is repeatedly begging RDS to drop out a year before a single primary vote is casted, because he is incredibly desperate for the very big money donors that he brainwashed his followers into believing was propping up RDS?

This reminds me of the classic children’s story of the Tortoise and the Hare.

wow - awesome news for the only Trumpers - Trump is beating another republican, and losing by a large amount to Biden accoding to the very same poll.

Maybe Trump should think about running against democrats, not his fellow republicans for a change?

...but he sure spends a lot of time talking trash about people he is supposedly beating by a huge margin.

Wow --- awesome news for the anti-Trumps --- DeSantis can't beat another Republican or Biden.
