The Belgian government's decision to not provide shelter for single men seeking asylum was met with dismay on Wednesday by political figures and human rights organizations.
Places are to be reserved exclusively for families with children, the Belgian state secretary for asylum and migration, Nicole de Moor, announced, arguing insufficient capacity meant families, women and children should be given priority.
According to the EU Agency for Asylum, male applicants last year accounted for 71% of asylum claims across the bloc and associated countries Iceland, Israel, Norway, Serbia, Turkey and the United Kingdom.

The animals in Belgium are going to ho ballistic over this. What the hell else do the unemployed bums have to do?

If the employers really want and need 3d world labor, let them provide housing.
That’s what occurred 150 years ago when mostly European migrants came to America to work the mines, factories, construction projects. Company housing.
Far too late.
I’d say, 100% company support. Pay for health care, kids’ education, food, everything. But make it fair, this go-round. No “slave labor”. And, oh, maybe 10% of total compensation into guaranteed savings the worker can withdraw after 10 years, so they have a reasonable “out”.
It sometimes is a bit unnerving if one lets their mind wander...
