Russia's super attack helicopter playing a major role
“This Revolution will not be Televised!”
Lyrics by Gil Scott Heron
As far as I know, that’s the only helo with ejection seats. The ejection sequence includes charges that blow off the blades an instant before the seats fire.
i dint see any kills, just a promo video
and dint they lose two in one day here the week or so ago???
So are we rooting for Russian technology all of a sudden?
It’s like that helicopter in the Bond movie Goldeneye. It took had an ejection cockpit.
They have had a few shot down. It’s been a good ship when it stays back and uses standoff missiles from outside of AAA. But inside there, or inside MANPADs range... they can and do get hit.
I didn’t see that movie. Still on the list!
It’s pretty good. It was Pierce Brosnan’s first outing as OO7.
The ability to use helicopters so much during the Counter-Offensive shows how deteriorated the Ukraine / USA / NATO air defence is.

If you follow this war, on knowledgeable and reliable sources, on a daily basis you would know that the Ka-52, using revised tactics and new stand-off munitions, is delivering IMMENSE destruction of Ukrainian armor… including all the latest Wunderwaffe du jour. And they are doing this with minimal losses to Ka-52s. This contrasts sharply with their performance earlier in the war when they suffered significant losses with previous tactics and technology,
The drones are really changing the game.
Those blade charges are very reliable one would hope.
Sounds spooky. Haven’t heard of it being glitchy, but yikes. Six blades blowing off with explosive bolts and slinging away with centrifugal force, then ejecting through a blast through canopy in a rocket ejection seat... sounds pretty radical.
Takes the helo “Jesus nut” concept to a whole other level.
I wonder how are you planning to fight a major war when two lost helicopters is a big deal for you.
Yes, the two lost helicopter brings their numbers down to 1428 of them left. I bet they’re going to make a bunch more now.

Yeah.
Overall the Russians have lost more than 50% of their Ka-52 fleet since their illegal invasion.
Plenty of videos of the 52’s being shot down:

1428 of them?
ROFL
Russia built 20 Ka-50, and 198 Ka-52’s
Of that number, Russia could only afford to have 90 of them in service.
.
I was just about to comment on the losses but you beat me to it. During the initial weeks of the current Ukrainian offensive the KA-52s were nasty towards Ukrainian armor. But the flip side of this was that Russia had to expose them to an army loaded to the teeth with MANPADS, and as a result Russia has lost so manny that they are no longer a significant force on the battlefield.
