I almost hate to try to do it anymore, because you have to try to argue with people unable to grasp nuance and a more formal yet ‘archaic’ language , and who expect their understanding of the topic to be completely encompassed by a one sentence summary, in the current vernacular, (which also pretty much must agree with their preconceived notions as well).
You have reminded me that many of the founders used words in much the same manner ad an artist uses a color palette, to paint lush and vivid images for the mind, while often stimulating reciprocal eloquence. I often marvel at their ability to illustrate concepts with prose as a painter would depict a landscape using inks.
I often consider advocating for a hefty fine for the public and inappropriate use of the word “like” and “totally”, particularly by public officials!!!
