Which is a presumption of guilt before innocence and it gets innocent people killed.

No it's not, it's a measure of safety to insure that a potentially armed individual doesn't kill innocent people.

Says you who wasn't sitting in your car, two miles back for the past hour while these idiots illegally blocked the highway.

Open your mind......

In a saner time, the officers would have used batons to knock some sense into the heads of these idiots.......

You missed the context of my comments here. I was not talking about this particular situation. I think these idiots needed to be removed.

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

When it endangers the lives of other citizens it is not peaceful and it is no longer protected by the Constitution. Life saving Emergency Services were obstructed endangering lives, And the traffic jam presented a life threatening danger from the environment.

But it doesn’t change the fact it is a presumption of guilt when officers point firearms without probable cause of firearms. It is also a presumption of guilt when officers put you in handcuffs and imprison you in a cruiser under the false guise of “detainment”.

“it’s a measure of safety to insure that a potentially armed individual doesn’t kill innocent people.”

No it is not... That is BS misrepresentation just like the “just detaining you” excuse. Until a firearm has been identified it is pure “just in case” self preservation as a priority over the citizen’s Constitutional presumption of innocence. It presumes everyone is guilty of being armed and dangerous. Fact.

And because this presumption of guilt is always in the back of their minds, truly innocent citizens are killed everyday pulling out their wallet because they were asked for identification or pulling up their pants from automatic motor control and habit.

Why? Because out of fear the finger was on the trigger ready to rock. And the thought that the citizen might be innocent never crosses their minds at all, it does not matter, they are not as important as the officer thinks he is.
