HERE WE GO: Florida Attorney Files Legal Challenge Claiming Trump Cannot Be on 2024 Ballot Due to Alleged Involvement in Jan 6 “Insurrection”

A challenge has been filed in a federal court seeking a declaratory relief on the eligibility of President Donald Trump to run in the 2024 Presidential Election.

The petitioner cites Section 3 of the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which disqualifies individuals involved in “insurrections” against the government from running for federal office.

The lawsuit, filed on Tuesday by Lawrence A. Caplan, alleges that Trump is constitutionally prohibited from running for president again due to his alleged involvement in the January 6 “insurrection” at the U.S. Capitol.

Caplan claimed he has participated in the last twelve presidential elections and is a legal resident of Florida. He is also a member of various state bars and federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court, asserting that this gives him standing in the matter.

Below is a transcript from the complaint:

"The facts of this case are undeniably simple. Donald J. Trump served a the 45th President of the United States having won the election in 2016 and was inaugurated on January 20, 2017. He served for four years until he lost the 2020 Presidential Election to Joseph R. Biden, Jr. who took office on January 20, 2021. President Trump chose not to appear at the inauguration of his successor. Having left for his estate in South Florida while the ceremony was taking place…

On January 6, 2021, after giving a speech to a throng on the Ellipse near the Capitol, President Trump exhorted the throng to march to the Capitol and told them that he would be right there with them. After he was finished with his speech, Trump returned to the White House and watched he later events unfold on television. As we are well aware, the throng marched on the Capitol, forced their way into the Capitol building, ransacked the rotunda area, and even made their way into several offices of representatives and senators…

Of note, President Trump had sent out a tweet the day before claiming that “January 6th will be wild”. Trump also later remarked that the insurrectionists who had breached the Capitol were “special” and that “we love you”. He also later remarked that had Vice-President Pence simply done his job and refused to certify the results of the election that everything would have been fine. Not for several hours were the National Guard called in to quell the insurrection as allegedly President Trump refused to do so and had been mesmerized by the events that were taking place on his television at the White House…"

All part of the cheaDers’ plan.

The question is if there will be an option for write-in candidate votes.

“It is nice to know you have given up. They win and only win when we give up.”

I haven’t given up. I am just tired of wasting time on efforts and ideology that will indeed get us nowhere. We are handing it to them with our own ignorance and denial of reality.

So we get a republican president? Then what? It will be the same communism and enslavement of we the people by our government. The only difference will be communism with an “R” behind it instead of a “D” behind it.

It is just too simple and predictable. It is not rocket science. There are huge billboards everywhere telling us what the new reality is. The reality is Trump will never be President. Even if by some mistake on their part he is elected both parties will tie his hands and he will not be able to do one thing for us. Or they are going to kill him. And all the other Republican candidates are just as communist as the democrats and hate the lowly people just as much. On top of that we will be lucky if martial law is not declared and elections are suspended indefinitely.

Show me the win in this reality? There isn’t one... It is now a no win situation. We snoozed and waited too long to care. Now we will pay for our own laziness and false sense of security.

“I believe this strategy will be effective and that Trump will not be on the ballot in November 2024.”

I believe you are delusional.

“Who defines “insurrection” and has Trump been tried in court for insurrection?”

“Go peacefully and patriotically...]

Yeah, a very un-insurrectioney thing to say.

Case dismissed.

I’m not following, here is the actual headline:

Again,

It is nice to know you have given up. You are very firm on your position.

CHANGE THE REALITY. The story is still being written.

I'm sure the governor of Florida, (what's his name?) will help defend against this lawsuit

Maybe. Or maybe he'll just impersonate Trump, by smiling and calling him a name, instead. "Whiney Trump" would fit. "Traitor Trump" would really be more in Trump's league, though. What goes around often does come back around.

Oy gevalt, such an interesting fellow! LOFL.

Boynton area diamond thief: 'I am guilty' but hear my pain

"WEST PALM BEACH — A 60-year-old Boynton Beach area man, who faces millions of dollars in judgments from failed diamond schemes across the country, on Thursday pleaded guilty to wire fraud in admitting he pawned a 4.05-carat diamond ring he didn’t own.

“I am guilty of what I did,” Scott Meyrowitz told U.S. District Judge Donald Middlebrooks. “I am.”

But as he has done in other cases around the country, Meyrowitz immediately dialed back his admission of wrongdoing. He insisted he was under enormous pressure when he defrauded people he described as “friends or clients for 30 years.”

However, court records show Meyrowitz owes a tremendous amount of money — not including the $1.3 million he must pay a New York diamond wholesaler who owned the pawned ring that contained what FBI agents described as a "flawless heart-shaped blue diamond."

Meyrowitz owes nearly $1 million to a Texas man who invested in his failed plan to mine diamonds in Sierra Leone, court records show. He owes an Arizona woman nearly $2.8 million for not repaying her after she loaned him $900,000 to purchase a 4.14-carat diamond that he claimed he could sell for $1.8 million, according to a judgment filed in Palm Beach County Circuit Court.

Further, one of his former attorneys — Boynton Beach lawyer Lawrence Caplan — is suing him for more than $500,000, claiming Meyrowitz double-crossed him in a deal to develop a high-tech mailbox that would protect letters and packages from theft. Boca Raton attorney Andrew Schwartz is also suing Meyrowitz, claiming he walked away from a nearly $50,000 legal bill.

Despite Levin’s decision, Meyrowitz sued Wells Fargo and Brendel in federal court in West Palm Beach. The bank reached a confidential settlement with Meyrowitz over his claims that it improperly released his bank records.

However, U.S. District Judge Kenneth Marra threw out Meyrowitz’s allegations against Brendel. He ordered Meyrowitz and attorney Caplan to pay Brendel $39,000 to cover his legal expenses.

"I rue the day I met him with his snake-skinned boots," Caplan said. "I should have run."

A "high-tech mailbox" LOFL. Catches mice too! AHAHAHAHAAAAAA!

Well, you're just a real dope, aren't you, you shyster, you schnorrer, you schnook. Schadenfreude!

“CHANGE THE REALITY. The story is still being written.”

Pure fantasy. Good luck with that. We already had that chance while the system still worked and blew it. Unless we can go back in time the loses cannot be reversed. Never going to happen by peaceful means or this failed system. And non-peaceful means are never going to happen. The ballgame is much more important.

“I believe this strategy will be effective and that Trump will not be on the ballot in November 2024.”

Even if it doesn’t, The possibility will indeed put one hell of a damper on his campaign contributions.

Which is probably the true goal.

Our government has now succeeded in oppressing and enslaving we the people. Our concept of a Free Republic is now gone and we are never going to get it back using the system the government has absolute control over.

Period... Fact...

Scooter needs to go veiw a real insurrection.
These snowflakes always think they’ve been through the worst of everything.

I could have sat on the steps of the Capitol and drank a cold Sixpack during the worst of it.
