You don’t get the true nature of the Azov Battalion.

Here is an NBC article that is a year old that hints at the Nazi past in Ukraine and it’s persistence.

https://www.nbcnews.com/think/opinion/ukraine-has-nazi-problem-vladimir-putin-s-denazification-claim-war-ncna1290946

NBC is Leftist. But even NBC admits it is still an issue in the Ukraine.

By the way, I’ve read that Zelenski has bought a Villa in Egypt recently.

Ukraine is very corrupt.

And Biden’s recent exposure has amplified how corrupt we are along with the Ukraine leaders.

I pray for our nation and our leaders ever day. We are terminally corrupt in DC.

I read the article and it still doesn’t answer the question, what does being a Nazi today mean? It is a nice buzz word that I guess at best refers to white supremacists. So call them white supremacists then. In a country and frankly large area that is mostly white I am not sure what that means
As to aligning with the nazis in the past all of Europe is guilty of that. French, Belgium, Dutch, Norwegians, Latvians, Lithuanians, hell even Russians fought on the side of Germany during the war. How about Bulgaria, Rumania, and Italy, they did as well.

How often is their past nazi participation discussed?

The question remains what does it mean to be a “neonazi” in this day and age. The article itself even puts the cabash on putins claim of de-nazification.

There is no hitler saying heil hitler means nothing, there is no Nazi germany as a power so being a “nazi” means nothing.

Putin was looking to expand Russian power, influence and territory. His reasons(excuses) don’t and never did hold water.

I think my favorite is to stop NATO expansion (that worked real well) as if what, once Ukraine became part of NATO, then NATO would attack.

Before the war, Ukraine was no military threat, Finland and Sweden were firmly against joining NATO and most of NATO was continuing down a demilitarization path. Just look at the hoops they have had to jump through to arm Ukraine.

The war is a tragedy all around, and was totally unnecessary except for the goals and dreams of one man, Putin.

As to corruption no argument there, but seriously I think Russians corruption and robbing the Russian people blind takes second place to no one even Biden.

The constant “lamenting” of Ukrainian loses on these threads might actually mean something if I thought they gave a damn about them. Their laments ring hollow when they fail to put any blame on Russia or Putin for the loses. At best it seems that their point is that if only Ukraine had understood the benevolence of Putin and surrendered at the outset this could have been avoided, and since we are talking history, russian (Soviet) occupation of Ukraine in the past makes todays loses small in comparison

The Ukrainians know that a Russian occupation would not have been a good thing for the Ukrainian people

Lastly, though I still don’t know what being a Nazi means today, I can look back, ya know history, and say russia(Putin) sure use lots of Nazi tactics, and Russia sure looks a lot more like nazi germany than a free and open country

So want to end these loses and this war, just have Putin pull his troops back and recognize Ukraine for the sovereign country they previously pledged to protect
