I’m not going back to the COVID dictatorship, and I don’t believe anyone else should.

A favorite quote of mine: “The medical profession is not all that it’s cracked up to be”.
“I’m having a knee replaced on 9-12 at the Cleveland Clinic. I hope the COVID panic holds off until I’m home from the hospital.”
I wish you luck! I had hip replacement scheduled for March 2020 in Knoxville which was postponed. I finally had it in June 2020.
HORRIBLE experience with all the protocols in place. Total insanity. Mean, uncaring staff (probably because they were forced to wear masks, and do ridiculous unconventional things).
“The medical profession is not all that it’s cracked up to be”.
Or “quacked” up to be.
A friend of mine got it. Tested positive. Had a minor fever for about two days. Not as bad as a cold. That’s it.
Today's new Covid variant is BS.8.27.2023. Get the shot!
Tomorrow's new Covid variant will be BS.8.28.2023. Get the shot!
And because you have no symptoms, get a test -- buy one or have some entity buy it for you -- and test! Test! Test!
This was the WHO advice in early 2020. So it has been marketing and marketing and marketing for those who have and plan to profit wildly from the hysteria and media and fear.
.
Good luck, Hub was lucky and only needed partial knees, As Out Patient. FJB forced Medicare to go to full knees, lots more expensive. Longer recovery. Less use of knees too. His sis has a full, and hates it,
Why does your sis hate it?
Sorry about you nasty, evil COVID experience.
How did your surgery go and how is your hip now? Are you glad you did it?
Surgery went OK but not as well as in the past. Hip is fine now.
I’d had it twice before on the other hip. Replacement in ‘85, and revision in 2005. I pretty much knew what to expect.
It was remarkable to compare today’s healthcare to how it use to be. So much worse now. Hospital protocols are worse. Treatment is so impersonal now compared to 40 years ago. Surgeons are invisible ‘cause they shuffle you off to PAs.
The experience during Covid was a nightmare, but I think it would’ve been almost as bad without the Covid factor. The medical industrial complex has no concern for health; it is just the $$$. (IMHO)
At you still on track for your procedure?
