When I was in Business School (1980’s) we were taught that if a retailer had large amounts of shrinkage - it was employee theft because large shrinkage could not occur from shoplifting “unless they were walking out with armloads full of stuff”.
Of course, that is exactly where we are now.
I agree about the need for another Great Awakening, but in the past they always followed severe economic reversals.
