I hope you know that 1776 was a civil war.

That war turned out pretty well -- at least for a few decades.

Quoting Jefferson writing to Madison.

“I hold that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, & as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical.”

Sure sounds like a plan to me written by one of our most brilliant leaders -- ever.

It wasn't. 1776 was a war of secession, the colonies weren't fighting to take over England. Just as the War between the States wasn't a civil war either: the South didn't fight for control of the country, they just wanted to be left alone.
