Call me a pessimist if you will. But I’m going to call it like I see it. There is a big difference between 1860 and now. Back in 1860, there was considerable unity of purpose in the South. Most Southern citizens were upset with the North. And most Southern leaders were upset with the North.

How many GOP leaders are truly upset today? Damn few. And any leader that does step up will be swatted down by the Deep State and their GOPe allies.

DownInFlames well could be correct in his post #2.

Seceding factions won’t have much of a President, military, etc. and when the fog of war surrounds them, they’ll end up in the graves they’re already digging for themselves.
