Roughly 130 million people in 22 states are under various heat warnings, watches and advisories as a dangerous heat dome settles over a huge section of the county.
The searing August heat wave is forecast to continue through at least the end of this week.
The National Weather Service says a potent upper-level ridge is anchored over the Mid-Mississippi Valley, trapping the hot air.
It is bringing oppressive heat from the central U.S. to the Gulf Coast. High temperatures throughout these areas are forecast to reach into the upper 90s and low 100s through Thursday.

Burning!
Roasting!

It’s called Summer
It used to be called a “Bermuda High”, until the weather became political. Now it’s a dome we’re all trapped in.
We're supposed to be scared!
While that may be true, well, ummm, ... You're a racist!
Where we are in the NE, its been wetter and cooler than normal
It makes me sad I can’t virtue-signal along with the MSM
“Heat Dome Lurks, Putting More Than 130M in US in Dangerous Heat”
What ‘lurks’ are more and more REGULATIONS driving up the cost of air conditioners and the cost of electricity to run those air conditioners - and soon, the overall supply of that electricity.
What we CANNOT control is the CO2 output from the 85% of the world that is NOT in the West.
Quick! Everybody get your Covid mask on! Er... wait, wrong crisis, sorry.
I see a great need for a device to cool the air in houses.
It might be powered by electricity.
That electricity should not be needlessly expensive.
That electricity should be provided by very reliable means.
I was looking at a Florida subdivision yesterday.
The houses were packed together with no tree cover.
Judgement does not lurk. Trump Arrest. Judgement.

I’ll see your heat dome and raise you a bomb cyclone and an arctic river.
I was driving to Austin one day and passed an area that they clear-cut a huge property of all the pine trees for a new housing development. They had a couple 5 gallon pine trees out by their sign which said you can get a pine tree when you bought a house. The developers name, The Pines...... Can’t make this stuff up can’t 🧐
“Oppressive heat”. I heard it was making blacks do the soft shoe…
Cute! Difficult to know which calamity we have to get ready for, isn’t it? Shouldn’t we get checklists from the government?
Exactly- Burmuda High wasnt scary enough- Heat Dome is far ‘scarier’ to the low info folks who don’t do their own research to learn that summers are hot lol
In PA. Wearing sweater as I do nearly every morning. I think I’ve used the AC 3 times this summer. Boiling scalding lava earth, I tell you!
