I haven’t stepped foot in a Dicks for at least 15 years. They were selling firearms at the time. I went into Dicks to buy a rifle sling. They required me to show them ID when I was paying cash. There’s no law on the books either federal or in Pennsylvania that require showing ID to buy a rifle sling. I have no desire for my name to go into some database only to be used in unimaginable ways. It told the store clerk to get the store manager to override the ID requirement. He was a low-T soy boy and wouldn’t budge on the policy. I told both him and the clerk to quit their anti-American company and that they lost a customer for life. Oh, and I left the gun sling at the register and drove a half hour to a mom and pop gun store to buy one without any ID policy and with great customer service.
Eff Dicks. Eff box stores.
I’ve noticed Academy Sports sells the same items for much less (at least golf clothes). And you can purchase fun firearms at Academy.
Scanned too quickly and thought it was an article about Leisure World.
Dick’s - the Best Buy of sporting goods.
Where you go to look at products before buying them cheaper online.
The Dick’s stores in my area quit selling fishing gear as well.
It’s not theft, it’s reparations and those can get expensive.
It’s a shame that multitudes of gun owners like me do not shop at Dick’s anymore.
One time when it’s good news that Dicks are down.
Our local Dicks quit selling firearms and ammunition. During many of the ammo panics I would go there in the mornings and find what I was looking for but they quit selling ammunition a few years back.
LOL, clever this.
Flaccid results.
Academy no longer sells AR-15 Style rifles. They sell a couple of Rugers in 22 & 9mm that look kinda dangerous. Any of your common AR calibers are available bolt action only.
They have the last dime they will get from me.
I don’t shop at Dicks because they’re traitor Dicks on the second amendment.
In Cumming GA, Dick’s is right next to a BJ’s Wholesale.
Agreed. I trust the company goes bankrupt.
How much did they spend on Employee Abortion? Go woke and you wonder about theft as an excuse... unless you’re trying a “Bud-Malveny reboot your demographics” campaign.
Dickson reopened here in Fayetteville NC and they have morphed into a clothes retailer. They have exactly 5 12-foot e-row shelves in their 400 sq ft Camping department. They’ve got more shelves space devoted to insulated bottles seemingly everywhere.
If theft were the actual cause they wold have locked up the fishing tackle and lures!
Yup, I think the theft shrinkage is just a way to explain loss of sales, due to “other” factors, such as the one you mentioned.
