I read this a few days ago and it brought tears to my eyes.

It worked the same way today for me. What sadness I feel that our old and new media so gleefully and wickedly sold out the country, preventing this realization to get through to the average lo-info voter—that Trump is not a vulgarian buffoon, but at core an America-loving, hard-working man of exceptional intelligence, perception, drive, accomplishment, AND understated refinement, at least in the physical environments that he created. Bedminster’s style, she recognized, is a visual distillation of classic Americanism when America was great, a land that promised better days always ahead for those who share the dream and are willing to work it out.

She was also startled at seeing him from a few feet away; the orange man with yellow hair from the photos that had formed her mental picture of him appeared in reality noticeably more muted. Presidential, even. She thinks it’s a recent improvement from a new campaign handler, not quite ready to grasp the cheap’n’easy perfidies of color-saturated, digitally manipulated images at the click of a media antagonist’s touch pad.

Again, that she finally “got” his genius at foreign relations made me so sad—is it too little, too late for voters from the liberal middle to recognize what we deplorables saw in him?

Very poignant, AW.

Is it too late? Hopefully not for your beautiful country. It is woefully late for liberal voters. Naomi had her eyes opened with the covid scam....she realized the lies that were being handed to us on a silver platter. This is what opened her mind to some self-reflection regarding President Trump. I suspect her husband had something to do with this as well lol, being a real man.

Your average liberal is locked and loaded in emotion rather than actual thinking. That emotional thinking was commandeered back in 2015 when the left decided it was necessary to morph President Trump from the epitome of the American Dream, one of their own, a star, an icon, into public enemy and racist extraordinaire number two, only to be outdone by Satan himself.

Very few people budge from this emotional position. Their fixation on hate prevents them from thinking. It’s like the brain has room for only one or the other. Maybe that’s true when in comes to the left.

regarding "understated refinement, at least in the physical environments that he created." - As a businessman, he understood that his hotels, resorts, golf clubs, etc. had to appeal to the customers and not be his personal preferences. Compare the decor of the Trump Tower penthouse to the decor of his public-facing properties.

Foreign relations ... notice the word "relation." Business is ultimately about relationships. Considering his success in business, is it really surprising that he would be successful in relationships with foreign dignitaries?

One of my lefty relatives had commented some time ago that Melania rarely seems to smile. If one searches for images of Melania, there are many of her smiling or laughing. However, those are not the ones the "journalists" choose to include in articles about her or Pres. Trump. They find the least flattering images of her. Pathetic.
