This story is based on unidentified “sources familiar with the matter” just like all the stories we used to hear related to “Russian collusion,” which turned out to be completely fictitious. All those unidentified “sources familiar with the matter” turned out to be liars (if they were even real), but we couldn’t know who they were, because they got to hide behind anonymity.
From an article out yesterday:
Appearing to contradict former President Donald Trump’s primary public defense in the classified documents case, former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows has told special counsel Jack Smith's investigators that he could not recall Trump ever ordering, or even discussing, declassifying broad sets of classified materials before leaving the White House, nor was he aware of any ‘standing order’ from Trump authorizing the automatic declassification of materials taken out of the Oval Office, sources familiar with the matter tell ABC News.
Of course the compliant media is willing to print anything relating to Trump without verification … while its operatives buried the Hunter Biden laptop truth, supposedly because their journalistic standards (that’s a joke) wouldn’t let them print the story they couldn’t verify.
The purpose of all the stories about Trump is to destroy him for the next election, nothing more. They don’t care if he is convicted, or not. They know Never Trump Republicans will go along with the plan to chase Trump out of the race. They also don’t care if he is even guilty or not.
One of the biggest pieces of propaganda is that the media and other Democrats want to run against Trump. He’s the most formidable presidential candidate in at least a generation; of course they don’t want to run against him.

A president doesn’t have to tell his plans for him to be president
It’s exactly why larger numbers of people no longer trust the news anymore. They’ve caught on. This Neal Oliver commentary is a must listen:
If he wants to give an order, he actually has to give an order. He actually has to do something...this doesn’t seem obvious to some Freepers.
Not true. He could be negotiating with Xi and hand xi a TS document just because he wants to make a point. He doesn’t need to consukt, forewarn, or tell anyone. He is the chief.
None of these 4 cases will ever play out to the end. At some point Trump will roll out the irrefutable military evidence and that will be the end of that. Trump did not sign on for a prison sentence. This whole thing is to wake everyone up and expose the deep state players. It seems to be working well.
I wonder if ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, NYT, Wapo, LAT, PBS and others like them will ever find out much less admit that THEY themselves have destroyed themselves in recent decades because the vast majority of Americans don’t believe a thing they say or even watch them. I have not watched ABC, NBC, CBS or CNN in at least 25 years.
The anonymous sources are named Jack Smith.
If it were The President’s intention to declassify a document either permanently or temporarily, he doesn’t have to tell anyone for it to be declassified. If he considers it in his own mind to be declassified, then it’s declassified. Period.
The President IS the executive branch.
This doesn’t seem obvious to some Freepers.
A proper POTUS would cause multiple people being fired at the DOJ for such leaks.
The DOJ plays games when it comes to making information public, claiming on one hand that it “does not comment on an active case” and then intentionally leaking information to “friendly” media in an attemot to get the case tried in the arena of “public opinion”.
Trump did not tell me either but he did not have to tell anyone.
“If he wants to give an order, he actually has to give an order. He actually has to do something...this doesn’t seem obvious to some Freepers.”
Jake Smith must believe he can’t prove Trump did not declassify the documents because Smith did not charge Trump with Illegally in pocession of classified documents.
