Maybe rabid, frenzied, populist even irrationally loyal. But certainly not listless. No one is saying "(sigh) well, I guess I'll vote for Trump if I'm not getting my earwax rotated on election day".
Even "deplorable " made more sense because Hillary and the Democrats did deplore us.

Trump supporters are about as "listless" as the Beatlemaniacs of the mid-sixties. In October, 2020, huge crowds lined the streets of Newport Beach, Calif. to see Trump's limousine go by (I was there). This was not a parade; Trump was in the Southland to visit a friend. Yet tens of thousands showed up just to see him go by. This sort of thing happens with rock stars, but never politicians.
