I’m fully on board with that.

Or at least require all foreign or military aid be negotiated as a treaty in the Senate. Preferably something which benefits the United States in terms of resources, or technology.

I believe we have to cut down on all of this type of foreign aid. We must get our house in order.

When one is broke on the order of ten, twenty, or 200 times our annual tax revenues (depending on how you count debt) sending out this money and aid is akin to having an annual family income of $100,000, and being in debt for a million dollars, twenty million dollars, or $200 million dollars, and putting in a new swimming pool, buying a new car, or picking up the restaurant tab for 20 people at an expensive restaurant.

It is that irresponsible. And that is what we are doing.

As Milton Friedman famously said: “All Debts Get Paid.”

There are downsides to stopping this aid, that cannot be denied, though thoughtful people will differ on the seriousness and impact of stopping aid.

But stop it we must.
