The issue with wind power is that at extreme heat or extreme cold, wind speed tends to drop down.

So you have an energy source that tends to zero when you need it most.

Brilliant !

Both Texas and CA are heavily dependent on wind power. Regardless of the ideology behind it, the effect on electricity generation is the same.

Not only that, but when the temps hit 20 below zero (F), they windmills can’t run AND they have electric heaters in them to keep them from totally freezing up. So not only do they not produce any power, they suck juice from the grid to avoid self-destruction.
