I'm a recovering alcoholic with 33 years of sobriety. Smoked weed as a younger man and I'm not defending it. I preferred booze for the simple reason that, until recently here in NJ it was illegal and hard to get. Any drug will impair judgment and coordination, ones health, etc.
However not everyone who uses either develops a problem.
Marijuana has some medicinal use.
Alcohol has none.
