Ok, let’s just say the fires were caused by “global warning”. They have had years and zillions of dollars to prepare for and protect people from the inevitable ravages of “climate change”. Maui has a sophisticated Tsunami and volcano warning system because they know they are a real threat, evidently climate change wild fires didn’t worry them too much.

This situation, in some ways, reminds me of hurricane Katrina and New Orleans.

Funds were not spent to maintain and improve infrastructure but were spent on “other things” ie Mardi Gras.

the Maui Emergency Management Agency’s chief has no experience in emergency management.

Doesn't matter, he was a good DEMOCRAT.

Is CBS and NorDUH O'Donnell concerned that Pete Buttegeig has ZERO experience in transportation?

https://phys.org/news/2023-08-invasive-firestarter-non-native-grasses-hawaii.html#:~:text=They‘re%20also%20hardy%2C%20surviving,come%20to%20represent%20decades%20later.

a problem with weed abatement is that in the past hawaii imported three fast growing grasses to feed livestock
in the late 18th century by european ranchers:

buffel grass
guinea grass
molasses grass

these grasses grow fast so simply cutting them may not be practical. also they resist fire better than native hawaiian grass, so the less desirable grass displaces the more desirable grass.

I cannot find it right now but a survivor named Noah Tomkinson posted video of his family driving to escape the fires. They made it to state route #30 and were southbound to safety when a cop at an intersection was directing traffic wet to Front Street!!

The family got stuck there, bailed from their car and ended up in the ocean.

And where is the cop and whoever told him to send people to their deaths going to be held accountable?
