Your logic is flawed, it assumes the Deep State has enough control/influence to make Trump lose the general but not enough to make DeSantis lose.

That makes no sense, they would just make the current democrat win and could care less who the republican is in your speculation.

Either both could win or neither can win, voting for the “most electable” is a formula for losing and a refuge of those lacking a strong argument for their views.
