Thomas Sowell is a treasure! I purchased and read his book, "The Housing Boom and Bust", which details the late 2000s subprime mortgage fiasco. A no-nonsense, yet scholarly account of another tragic meddling by the unfettered federal government.



I think I'll order a copy of "Basic Economics" as well.

I have not read that one. I have read up on that subject, and how the 1977 Community Reinvestment Act laid the stage for that collapse...I didn’t know Thomas Sowell wrote a book on it.

I will have to check it out...:)
