“US deficit spending is the problem, and that long preceded Ukraine, and its causes have nothing to do with Ukraine.”

False.

And that all is the cumulative rot of decades, and the fault lies not in the politicians but in the people. And it is almost entirely a matter of domestic spending and regulation and corruption of the law.”

True... And the wars are the cherry on top... Vietnam War, Multinational intervention in Lebanon, United States invasion of Grenada, Bombing of Libya, Tanker War, United States invasion of Panama. Gulf War, Iraqi No-Fly Zone Enforcement Operations, First U.S. Intervention in the Somali Civil War, Bosnian War and Croatian War, Intervention in Haiti, Kosovo War, War in Afghanistan, American intervention in Yemen, Iraq War, American intervention in the War in North-West Pakistan, Second U.S. Intervention in the Somali Civil War, Operation Ocean Shield, International intervention in Libya, Operation Observant Compass, American military intervention in Niger, American-led intervention in Iraq, American-led intervention in Syria, American intervention in Libya.

The list doesn’t even include all the proxy wars over the years which does indeed include the Ukraine.

The bulk of US overspending has very little to do with military expenditures, in any period.

I suggest you do some research on the historical development of the Federal Budget.

And that alone is insufficient. The US also has a habit of funding things by mandating private spending.
