Just by coincidence the Tuohy family, Sean in particular, knew Michael Lewis, author of MONEYBALL among other books, well. That led to a book and later the movie. But taking Michael Oher into their family preceded that.

Regardless of that, I still don’t think there would have been any movie made about the Tuohy family if they had never taken Oher in. They’d have been just another family, and there simply wouldn’t have been a story.
