Chromium per se still is Google-centric. It’s essentially Chrome with all the non-Open Source stuff removed. But (IIRC) it still has lots of built-in links to Google’s on-line services including Gmail, Play Store etc.
There is, I believe, a fork called de-Googled Chromium, but I haven’t looked into it, as I much prefer Firefox ESR for general use.
P.S. For watching commercial streaming video I run Chrome on a separate computer (on a separate LAN), since such video is usually encrypted, and Chrome is least likely to have difficulty (given its market share).
