When I said “I’m not a fan” I meant as a presidential candidate... I don’t hate the guy, but its pretty clear 2 things.
1 he isn’t ready for national prime time. Governing a state effectively with a legislature you control is a far cry from national politics. I think he’s a sharp guy and a decent administrator.. but that in and of itself does not make one a great national candidate.
2 He’s just not a great retail politician... He really isn’t. Its pretty obvious watching him flail about to see why, without Trump swooping in at the last minute he would have lost in 2018 to a corrupt drug addict.
With both of those thing said, I don’t think this clip shows anything negative about DeSantis, its just the usual white noise during primaries and campaigns where folks/media etc try to create something that isn’t there... He’s helping prep the eggs and talking to the woman he’s working with.
5 minutes later, he could have been in full on Politician mode and greeting every customer etc, or he could have been doing that for 15 minutes before this 1 minute clip.. who knows, claiming this is some example of his retail politicing weakness... (while there are lots of examples to find) this clip doesn’t seem like one of them.
