X CEO Linda Yaccarino touts ‘autonomy’ from Elon Musk, says ‘lawful but awful’ posts ‘de-amplified’

The dynamic between Musk and Yaccarino has been a subject of intense scrutiny since she inherited the difficult task of steering a massive overhaul that included an exodus of advertisers and a resulting loss of revenue since the mogul paid $44 billion for the social media site last year.
Yaccarino’s task as CEO grew more complicated after Musk surprised the public by ditching Twitter’s brand in favor of the “X” name
Yaccarino said X has made significant strides in rebuilding its base of major advertisers, with Coca-Cola and Visa among the notable brands that have purportedly returned to the fold.
The X boss argued that the site is a “much healthier and safer platform than it was a year ago” and touted the company’s policy of “freedom of speech, not reach,” where content that’s considered “lawful but awful” gets “labeled” to protect brand safety for ad clients.

Who will determine what is "awful" is? Maybe woke-corporate and govt censorship are creeping back in?
>>>Or, is Musk cleverly using Yaccarino to lure advertisers back, and planning to allow free speech?
You don't really have free speech if it's confined to a soundproof room.

I tried to Tweet a story in Western Journal and it was denied because the source violated “community standards”. Seems like censorship is back.

Some posters here think Trump should be more “dignified,” “careful,” etc. Maybe the same could be said for some of this judge’s remarks. That quote sounds like “Election interference? Gotta break some eggs to make....”

Word going around is that the Chinese are creeping in with advertising money and accounts with pro-Chicom rhetoric and Musk is allowing it because of his business in China.
I don’t have an account there so I don’t know.

At some point, Trump’s team should read Levin’s discussion of asking the SCOTUS for a stay until after the election citing coordinated election interference.

We need to focus on protecting our ability to endure by placing caps on property taxation.

You don’t have free speech if corporations have more power than the individual. If you wondered if there is even a drop of freedom in our veins… 85% of Americans were obedient without question and took a vaccine that would be laughed out of immunology 999.
We lost it, just like the founders predicted.. at first it was subtle until covid turned us into a third world country where people died alone in hospitals and homes, without the humanity of a funeral. And that was only the beginning.

I don’t know how much control she has over this but I also get the advertising perspective when they have no control over content appearing next to their commercials.

It is easy for leftists to block by link.

“You get de-amplified, which means it cannot be shared and it is certainly demonetized”

from the linked article

I suspect it might be called shadow-banning by post.

Understand that concern. Do ads just appear everywhere in X?

So could be as bad as youtube. But Musk keeps surprising the world. Maybe he has thought ahead.

Yaccarino says she has “autonony.” As long as she doesn’t get laid off. Musk hopes she will attract advertisers for now.

Yet, if you tweet and realize it goes nowhere, and you are only seeing left leaning things the blob approves of…. You stop using and nobody sees the advertised ads.

“freedom of speech, not reach,” where content that’s considered “lawful but awful” gets “labeled” to protect brand safety for ad clients.

If they are stifling "reach", then it sounds like they are doing more than just "labeling".

Are they?
