Craig Robertson had a big mouth; writing checks his body could never cash. He was mentally ill. There are lots of people like that running around and when they make threats against politicians on social media, the FBI starts keeping track of them. So far, so good.
Robertson was also physically disabled and could never have gotten into position to make the shots he was threatening.
The FBI knew who he was and what he was capable of doing. Which was pretty much nothing. He made rabid posts on social media which certainly deserved attention. He got their attention. They had contacted him before and knew of his physical limitations.
A two-man surveillance team could have been sufficient to prevent any problems during the visit of President Biden. A 300-pound man who needs a cane to walk isn't going anywhere.
But no, the FBI set up a show with a 30-person combat team and a 6:00am raid on the house. Then they killed Robertson in a "dynamic entry" and dragged his bleeding corpse into the street for the neighbors to view for the next two hours.
We all got the message.
Nobody who made rabid threats against President Trump ever got that sort of treatment.
We all got that message too.
They will terrorize opponents by picking off easy targets with a big show. It will work for a while. Then it won't.
The people who will do things that the government officials really fear do not post on any social media.
And the very worst threats will come from ANTIFA (tm) franchises which escape control of their FBI handlers.
Well said.
