KAMPALA (Reuters) -Uganda's President Yoweri Museveni on Thursday denounced the World Bank's decision to suspend new funding in response to a harsh anti-LGBTQ law and vowed to find alternative sources of credit.
The country would have to revise its budget to absorb the move's potential impact, a junior finance minister said.
The World Bank said on Tuesday that the law, which imposes the death penalty for certain same-sex acts, contradicted its values and that it would pause new funding until it could test measures to prevent discrimination in projects it finances.

The World Bank, the major global multi-lateral bank for funding projects and countries in the 3rd world, founded at Bretton Woods at the end of WWII, run by Americans and funded by top donor countries - is now sanctioning countries for their LGBTQ policies.

So now the "world bank" -- read, US -- is pushing countries what resist the LGBT+ ideology. What does this ideology have to do with banking? Not a damn thing.
The World Bank and International Monetary Fund are finding that, like SWIFT, sanctioning nations to be compliant to certain ideologies is pushing these nations to seek alternatives. Over time, this is happening.
But the US-led LGBT+ (Democrats, really) ideology is proving a "bridge too far" for many, and this predicts greater schism.
Good for him. As a bonus, his country will be better off if they can get by without dealing with the World Bank.
Muslim nations will probably support and fund their position.
As time passes, I agree even more with the sentiment. The old adage, "feed a man a fish, or teach a man to fish...." Multi-nationals push the former and then lobby Western governments to PAY them to send the "free" to the "needy," thereby making it a profitable enterprise for some to keep others from creating profitable enterprises locally.
You are not supposed to say any of it. Aid to Africa is how politicians virtue signal (with other people’s money). A rough analogy is how welfare destroyed the black family here.
