Free walking tours are a common sight in San Francisco.
Whether by Coit Tower, Union Square or Fisherman’s Wharf, the City by the Bay draws plenty of tourists angling for a firsthand look at San Francisco’s iconic views and landmarks.
Later this month, however, a walking tour aims to bring attention to the “squalor” on San Francisco streets.
Set to take place on Aug. 26, the tour plans to lead participants from City Hall to SoMa, the organizer, SF Anonymous Insider, said on Eventbrite.
There is a charge of $30 for general admission to the tour. San Francisco Doom Loop Tour: Competing Walk To Show Tenderloin’s Best
“The tour will start at City Hall, and continue through Mid-Market, the Tenderloin, and Union Square,” the webpage for the event says. “We will view the open-air drug markets, the abandoned tech offices, the outposts of the non-profit industrial complex, and the deserted department stores.”
I wonder if they charge tourists extra for pooping on the street versus pooping on someone’s car.
Participatory events are always more fun!
What’s security going to be like?
Zoo animals get upset sometimes.
I mean, we can’t close our eyes to the plight of the cities. Kids, are you noticing all this plight?
*gunshot* *scream*
Roll ‘em up!
Good question. The drug-idled mentally ill roaming the streets could pose a serious threat.
Think these guys know The Commodores?

You gonna go all the way down about half a block...and you’ll see a Torino with no wheels on it.
Inside that Torino is my cousin, Jackie. You tell him that you’re my boy, and you’re lost. He’ll make sure you get where you’re going.
Cause you don’t want to know from me. I’m from the west side of Chicago, here on vacation

I had a similar thought, but you articulated it far better than I would have.

Given that it’s a walking tour, how could they prevent someone from just tagging along?
I ask this because it sounds like a fun afternoon, but thanks to Biden I don’t have $30 to spend.

A group on a walking tour through the Tenderloin is like setting out a buffet for wild animals. This idea has disaster written all over it.
There is a charge of $30 for participants to step in poop, hop over dirty needles and bums sleeping on the streets, and to avoid being pee’d on by transients
Sounds like a great time
I had to double check, I thought this was from the Bee.
"This part of America we never get to see...we can't close our eyes to the plight of the cities..Roll 'em up"
As someone that grew up just outside St. Louis I can tell that that scene isn't far off the mark.
A very promising boost to restore San Fransicko’s tourist industry!
Here’s a second big boost — new attraction to restore The Shitty’s tourism//

As a former resident of SF you couldn’t pay me to set foot in that cespool.
White liberal 'elties' love looking at the total depredations of other humans - makes them feel so 'superior'. Another reason they never solve the problems of 'the poor'... only do things to keep them dependent and broken,
It should be a mandatory tour for Democrat voters.
