No. We should not give an inch on anything related to private property. We need to get off our lazy butts and swing the pendulum the opposite direction. Eliminate property taxes so we don’t pay rent to government. Reduce and/or eliminate zoning laws that constrain what you do with and on your property.

These commies want you to own nothing and be happy about it. It is antithetical to being American. This is the stuff revolutions are fought. It fundamentally affects the most basic things in life: your shelter. Oh, and by the way, rent control never works. It doesn’t solve a single problem.

“Reduce and/or eliminate zoning laws that constrain what you do with and on your property.”

The government owns the surrounding roads. If your property is allocated two motor vehicle access permissions you’ll have a hard time renting our three apartments.

Zoning density is related to the traffic bearing capability of the roads.

The government often owns the local sewer and water systems.

“Reduce and/or eliminate zoning laws”

One hundred years ago mortgages were typically limited to 50% of property value.

Why, because property might easily become less valuable.

Circa 1960 a man wanted to get a mortgage on a South End Boston townhouse. The man was told the bank lost money in the South End in the depression. The man told the banker the depression was about thirty years ago. The banker said his Boston bank lost money in the depression of the early 1870s.

Zoning makes high percentage mortgages possible.

zoning <-> middle class
