it's looking like the mice were in bad shape because the company was tipped off that a raid was immanent and the leaders took off - probably back to China. The rest of the crew working there were allowed to leave without criminal processing and will probably never be seen or heard from again. Like many in California, they were probably working under one or more false identities.
