According to the narrative that the White House is pushing, Special Counsel Jack Smith is carrying out his repeated indictments of former President Donald Trump “independently” without any influence, pressure, or coordination from the White House. To help maintain the illusion of independence, Joe Biden has recently declined to respond to questions about it when asked.
But Biden’s past comments on this issue make it quite clear that Special Counsel Smith is actually doing exactly what Biden ordered.
The New York Times reports (with emphasis added):
The attorney general’s deliberative approach has come to frustrate Democratic allies of the White House and, at times, President Biden himself. As recently as late last year, Mr. Biden confided to his inner circle that he believed former President Donald J. Trump was a threat to democracy and should be prosecuted, according to two people familiar with his comments. And while the president has never communicated his frustrations directly to Mr. Garland, he has said privately that he wanted Mr. Garland to act less like a ponderous judge and more like a prosecutor who is willing to take decisive action over the events of Jan. 6.
Donald Trump was indicted earlier this month on charges relating to his actions after the 2020 election leading up to Jan. 6, 2021. The charges include conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights. Experts have panned the indictment for being incredibly weak.
It may have taken a year, but the indictment finally came down a week ago. But it’s quite clear from the New York Times article that Biden was encouraging his attorney general to use the power of the government to stop Trump from returning to office.

This is far more in your face prosecuting your political opponent than whatever they were concocting for Trump’s first impeachment.
Impeach, impeach, and impeach. Harder, longer, faster.
Impeach, impeach, and impeach. Harder, longer, faster.

He won’t get removed but showing the public all the reasons they elected a crook who has done nothing more than decrease quality of life re costs / crime/ decency is worth the effort
Bkmk
.
He definitely ordered the Raids on Trump.
There’s never been a raid for a girl’s diary ever before, but we have one in Joe’s Admin. Only Joe benefitted by that raid.
The Dark Brandon speech from nowhere was an announcement (and justification) to charge Trump. Go watch the Dark Press Conf out of nowhere.
And I have clips, every time they ask Joe a question, he says go Investigate Donald Trump emphatically.
Usually, that a crime has been committed is evident immediately, or within days.
It time to put on our big boy pants and recognize that Garland’s boss is Biden. There’s nothing illegal about that. However, when it comes to banana republic style election interference we should have a major problem with that. The U.S. Constitution provides the remedy: impeachment and removal from office. I am unsure if there is any law that covers election interference by a sitting President. It really doesn’t matter, given there is a method to resolve the issue.
Yes, I know there are not the votes to remove Garland or Biden. That sucks. Our side isn’t good at winning. Maybe some will learn a lesson from what is going on and develop a backbone and some gumption to win in the future.
Biden? Or whoever is pulling his strings?
umm no
The unelected dictator is on video bragging about getting a Ukrainian prosecutor fired, who was looking into Hunters shady dealings.
Would he (JB) bribe others, to distract the people, and keep the heat off of himself?
🤔
There is no doubt that this angry, vindictive man ordered the prosecution of Trump.
Remember his September 1 Nazi speech that the media suppressed? It was full of anger and hatred at Trump and Republicans.
biden, together with pelosi, is behind this.
Promises of a future federal judgeship, perhaps? FJB knows a lot of senators that could nominate him for a District Court slot.
Dana Bash says it is not true, so therefore it is not true.
A federal judgeship can be bought by any barely qualified lawyer of the President’s party for a campaign contribution in the high six digits.
Reminds me of the play and movie “Becket.” Both based upon St. Thomas a’Becket’s life and death and his being a counselor to King Henry II. And Henry’s infamous utterance:
“Will no one rid me of this troublesome priest?” Where upon, 4 knights who heard him, took his frustrated outburst as an order to execute Becket.
Thus Biden could say that his comment to prosecute President Trump was just a ‘harmless’ comment, but history shows otherwise. A good explanation of this at Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Will_no_one_rid_me_of_this_turbulent_priest%3F
While Biden is complicit in this prosecutorial persecution of Trump, the ruling cabal that pulls Biden’s strings made the decision and I have no doubt that Obama gave his approval too.
The reasons Biden (or let’s face it, Biden’s team. Biden is basically a ham sandwich at this point) wanted Trump to get indicted are very simple:
— Of the possible GOP nominees, Trump is almost certainly the easiest for Biden to beat. Biden could get beat by anyone with a pulse at this point, but Trump is so toxic that lots of Republicans, moderates, and suburban women in particular just will not vote him.
— Biden’s team knows that by indicting Trump, they make him a martyr. Which bumps him up in the GOP polls and almost guarantees his nomination. ESPECIALLY given the fact that the GOP is running a cast of thousands against him, and has not coalescing around a single opposition candidate.
If Biden does win again, I wouldn’t be surprised if he pardoned Trump. First off all, it would totally neuter Trump and take him away as a distraction, and make Biden look like a benevolent “uniter” going into his final term. He could pardon Hunter at the same time, and in the ensuing Trump pardon firestorm media reaction that little tidbit would get almost totally lost.
Then again, I could be full of it.
Exactly whose notion that the DOJ needs to be independent from the (E)xcutive ?
Hmm, those Biden statements mirror exactly the tone he used in opposition to the Nord Stream Pipeline and we all know what happened there.
